Corporate Mission

Evergreen Group Chairman and founder Dr. Chang Yung-Fa established EVA Air in March 1989, lifting the impeccable transportation heritage and tradition of quality service long established by older sister and container-shipping leader Evergreen Marine Corporation to new heights. Within a few months, he had placed orders with the Boeing Company and McDonnell Douglas for 26 aircraft at a purchase value of US$3.6 billion, an action that immediately grabbed the attention of the global aviation industry. Both companies are part of the Evergreen Group.

Spreading Wings, Transforming Dreams
EVA Air had lofty goals when we made our maiden flight on July 1, 1991. It has established a network of destinations than span the globe, stretching to Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania and linking more than 50 cities- a truly global air tansportation network. In addition, carefully developed alliances with major carriers worldwide give us a far-reaching service network that benefits both our passenger and cargo customers.

Innovation and Attention to Detail
Embracing the Evergreen Group's corporate culture and encouragement of innovation, challenge and teamwork, EVA Air formed core values promoting safe, punctual flights, friendly professional services and innovative efficient operations. EVA led the airline industry in 1992 with the introduction of our remarkable premium economy service, now named Elite Class and emulated in concept by other carriers around the world. We upgraded Elite Class in 2005 when we launched our brand-new Boeing 777-300ERs .

In 2003 when we took delivery of our Airbus 330-200s and a couple of years later with delivery of our B777s, we again led the airline industry by unveiling Premium Laurel Class, our superbly comfortable, technologically advanced top cabin. At the same time, we put Audio/Video on Demand (AVOD) systems in every seat on these aircraft.

Making Flight Safety Our Priority
EVA uses technologically advanced flight analysis equipment such as Aircraft Condition Monitoring Systems (ACMS) and Aircraft Communications Addressing & Reporting Systems (ACARS) to track aircraft operations, engine conditions and flight performance. And we’ve equipped our new Boeing 777s with state-of-the-art Electronic Flight Bag systems, creating a paperless cockpit and providing even higher levels of safety, security and efficiency.

EVA Air has been recognized worldwide for our flight safety record. We’ve been awarded the coveted Gold Wing by Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration and ranked year after year as one of the world's top-10 safest carriers by Germany’s Aero International Magazine.

Our Global Future
The EVA Air fleet now includes 11 new Airbus A330-200s for regional and shorter-haul trips and 15 advanced Boeing 777s for long-haul flights. A new slogan, Sharing the world, flying together, coincides with the introduction of the stunning new B777s. These streamlined, energy-efficient next-generation aircraft now form the backbone of our fleet.

Our new Airbus and Boeing aircraft mark a new era in the EVA in-flight experience. They give our passengers all the comforts of the latest cabins outfitted throughout with leading-edge systems and enhanced with our high service quality standards. And EVA Air will soar to even greater heights in the future, continuing to give all of our international travelers exceptional services that exceed expectations.
