Before Boarding the Aircraft
- EVA's ground staff have been instructed to be especially vigilant for passengers displaying SARS-like symptoms (high fever, coughing, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties). Any passenger displaying symptoms will be promptly referred to the airport health authorities. EVA will refuse to accept passengers with symptoms if they are unable to present medical evidence that they are not suffering from SARS.

On Board the Aircraft
- EVA recommends that all passengers wear masks on board Hong Kong and Macau flights in both directions. Flight attendants will also be wearing masks for the duration of the flight.
- EVA has made adjustments to the aircraft air re-circulation system, to improve the quality of air on flights to and from Hong Kong / Macau / Singapore / Vietnam.
- EVA will provide masks for any passenger developing SARS symptoms during the flight, and all passengers in close proximity to the suspected SARS patient.
Aircraft Cleaning and Disinfection
- EVA follows the Aircraft Cleaning and Disinfection procedures issued by the WHO and all processes comply with the rules of Taiwanese and visited destinations' health authorities.
Travel Advisory
- EVA recommends all passengers travelling to Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Viet Nam and Singapore to be equipped with masks for the duration of their trip.
