EVA AIR Takes Delivery of Fifth new A330-200 2004/4/22

EVA Air will take delivery of its fifth new A330-200 in Toulouse on April 22, 2004.  Mr. Steve Lin, President and Mr. K W Chang, Chief Executive Vice President of EVA Air will attend the delivery ceremony in person. The new aircraft is expected to arrive in Taipei at 5.20 pm, April 23, 2004.

The new A330-200 has a range of 6450 nm (12350 km) and a larger fuel capacity than the A330-300. Its cruising range is 2000 km further than the A330-300.
 
 KW Nieh, Senior Vice President, EVA Air commented: "The A330-200 is one of the most flexible commercial aircraft on the market, perfect for short, medium and long haul flights. It is able to fly direct to all of our Asian destination from Taipei but also further afield; non-stop to Brisbane and Sydney."

EVA Air's A330-200s are configured with 24 Premium Laurel (business class) and 228 Economy Class seats. Premium Laurel is a first class style service equipped with flat beds, a 61-inch seat pitch, the most advanced in-flight entertainment system and sumptuous cuisine. It is, in effect, a first class service with a business class fare.

Each Premium Laurel seat is also equipped with a 10.4-inch VGA LCD monitor and hi-fi and noise-cancellation earphones. An Audio Video on Demand (AVOD) system is available in Premium Laurel and in an enhanced Economy Class aboard EVA's new A330-200s. Passengers navigate this system with remote controls to select from as many as 20 movies and TV features, more than 500 pieces of music that can be edited into personalised play lists, and five PC games to play alone or with seatmates.

EVA Air now has 48 aircraft including six B747-400 all passenger, nine B747-400 combi, four B747-400 freighters, eight B767,

13 MD-11 freighters, three MD-90s and five A330-200s. It will also introduce an extra five A330-200s and a fleet of 15 B777s until 2009.
