Following a short period of intense preparation, EVA Air launched Interline Electronic Ticketing services in partnership with Continental Airlines on July 7, 2005. EVA Air is the first airline in Taiwan to offer the service.

For the first time passengers can purchase Interline Electronic Tickets on codeshare flights operated by EVA and Continental Airlines. E-tickets can include flight sectors operated by each of the respective airlines.

EVA will release the Interline Electronic Ticketing function to Abacus for travel agency distribution on July 25, 2005.

IATA (International Air Transport Association) announced plans for electronic ticketing to reach 40 per cent of the total ticket volume by the end of 2005, 70 per cent by the end of 2006 and 100 per cent by the end of 2007.
EVA Air is working to develop Interline Electronic Ticketing within its CRS (Computerised Reservation System) to reach the IATA proposed targets.

EVA customers can purchase electronic tickets through the ticketing counter at EVA offices, travel agencies, the EVA website and the reservation phone sales service in Taiwan and the USA. EVA Airways provides Electronic Ticketing Service on all flights and routes.

Widely used throughout Europe and North America, Interline Electronic Ticketing will further enhance EVA Air's superior service. Benefits of electronic ticketing not only include greater operations efficiency, it cancels the risk of passengers' lost or stolen tickets. Interline Electronic Ticketing will be implemented throughout reservations, ticketing and interline data transmission functions.
