New Security Regulations of Cabin baggage for International Flights in Taiwan Area

New aviation security measures will be effective from March 1, 2007, for cabin baggage on international flights, including charter flights, departing, transfer and transit in Taiwan area. The additional security measures will be implemented as following:

  1. All liquids, gels or aerosols shall be required to be carried in containers with a capacity not greater than 100 ml.
  2. Containers shall be placed in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag of a maximum capacity not exceeding 1 liter. The containers must fit comfortably within such bag, which shall be completely closed.
  3. Such bag shall be presented for visual examination at the check point. Only one such bag per passenger will be permitted.
  4. Medications, baby milk/foods, and special dietary requirements could be permitted in cabin baggage if needed on board. These items must be removed from the cabin baggage and declared to security personnel at the check point.
  5. Passenger may carry Duty Free items on board which purchased from Duty Free shop inside the security restricted area or from previous flight. However, those items must be packed in a sealed plastic bag that is both tamper-evident and displays satisfactory proof; and...
  6. To facilitate screening and avoid a cluttered x-ray image, such plastic bags containing liquids, gels or aerosols container shall be presented apart from other cabin baggage, coats and jackets or laptops for separate x-ray screening.

    Starting from March 7, EVA check-in counters will open 2.5 hours before the flight departure.
