New Diamond VIP Lounge Opens at Taoyuan International Airport

EVA Air opened its roomy new Diamond VIP lounge in Terminal 2 at Taoyuan International Airport on January 20, 2011. The luxurious haven has been created for the exclusive use of Evergreen Club Diamond Card members and Premium Laurel Class ticket holders.  With plush leather seating, a gourmet buffet and the latest technology for busy travelers, the spacious new Diamond VIP lounge comfortably seats 160 passengers in approximately 1,200 square meters.

The main seating area is innovatively designed with a ceiling painted to resemble an azure blue sky with wispy clouds passing overhead. A high-tech LED lighting system simulates sunrise and sunset every hour. Other areas are just as thoughtfully appointed, with meeting spaces that are comfortable and relaxing.

The Milky Way theme of the buffet is captured above the serving area in a large oval porthole, framing a painting of our galaxy that twinkles with Pinpoint LED lights and creates the feeling of a starry night.  As passengers relax and wait for flights, they can enjoy fresh coffee, Western and Chinese snacks and 100 percent natural Swiss ice cream. Healthy dining choices include organic fruit and vegetable salads, high-fiber five-grain breads and a selection of sandwiches.  During holiday seasons, fine dining choices such as carved beef fillet, pork ribs, Din Tai Fung steamed dumplings and the Chinese delicacy, Buddha Jumps over the Wall, are served.

EVA’s new Diamond Lounge also includes four shower rooms, each with a temperature-controlled massage showerhead and a different theme. Passengers can choose to refresh themselves in a classic, art deco, Japanese Zen or modern environment.

The Diamond Lounge is also equipped to help busy executives stay on top of business responsibilities. Technological conveniences include 802.11n wireless internet service with transmission speeds of up to 100Mbit/sec.

It took expert building craftsmen three months to construct EVA’s welcoming new Diamond VIP Lounge.  It complements the airline’s other two VIP accommodations in Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport, the Evergreen Garden and Business Class Lounges.  A lush, peaceful setting, the Evergreen Garden is available exclusively for Diamond Card members. The Business Class Lounge gives Premium Laurel and Business Class ticket holders and Evergreen Club Gold and Silver Card members a warm and comfy place to rest and relax while they wait to catch flights.
